Why hire an Independent Educational Consultant
An Independent Educational Consultant (IEC) helps students and families navigate the college application journey. An IEC offers an independent perspective on a student’s college exploration. We are trained professionals who serve our student and family’s best interest. In working one-on-one, we offer a tailored approach to the college research and application process. How does this process work? We get to know the student and family through a detailed questionnaire and follow-up discussion. We agree on goals and timelines. We do thorough research on colleges based on the student and family’s needs. We present an unbiased college list and encourage further discussion. We assist in the application process and, if necessary, brainstorm insightful essay topics. We provide an in-depth discussion on financial aid. We encourage and help organize college visits. We offer assistance in the final college decision. And, we offer guidance on the transition to college. In a nutshell, an IEC helps alleviate the families stress during the college search and can even help make this milestone an enjoyable and learning experience.
